The Power of Gratitude

Gratitude is an incredibly powerful tool that can bring immense joy to your life. It is important to remember that gratitude isn't just about the things we have or receive; it's also about the small moments of gratitude, such as when you appreciate a kind gesture from someone else or take a moment to acknowledge something beautiful in nature. Gratitude is about recognizing how blessed we are and counting our blessings.

Life after trauma or tragedy can be difficult, but gratitude can help us process our feelings and cope with the situation. Gratitude encourages us to focus on what we still have instead of what has been taken away. It helps us see all the good parts of life, even amidst sadness or distress.

Furthermore, gratitude allows us to recognize the love and kindness of others. It encourages us to express our gratitude towards them in return. It also enables us to give back and return the kindness that we have been fortunate enough to experience.

An attitude of gratitude can help cultivate a positive attitude in our lives. We can be thankful for all the good things life has given us instead of focusing on what is missing or wrong with our lives. Gratitude helps us focus on joy instead of despair and embrace life fully. While it is important to acknowledge our difficult feelings (dismissing or skipping over them is known as spiritual or emotional bypassing) we can add a dose of gratitude to stay present as well.

Simply put, gratitude is an incredibly powerful emotion that can bring immense joy into our lives if we practice it more often. Focusing on gratitude can help us process difficult emotions, appreciate the kindness of others, and cultivate a positive attitude in our lives. Let gratitude be the foundation for creating joy in your life.

Who is Jackie Fetter?

Meet ME, Jacqueline N Fetter. I’m a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native and a Colorado transplant. I'm an adventurous water protector who loves anything outdoors and leads an active lifestyle. I’ve been a massage therapist since 2017, a health coach since 2011, owner of a float tank business in the past, an author, and known as the "Inked Yogi" for combining yoga with body art.

Health and wellness are essential to me, but so are friendship and fun! I take care of myself by snowboarding, dirt biking, riding my Harley Davidson motorcycle, being in the gym most weekday mornings, focusing on my mental health and nutrition, and more. Currently, I am a student at Colorado State University, studying environmental sociology, with minors in environmental affairs and global environmental sustainability, I also continue to learn each day from the new experiences life brings my way - even through adversity. Living a sober lifestyle has given me great insight into the world around us. My love for nature, the outdoors, and a well-designed lifestyle keeps me grounded.

I try to be a unique modern-day warrior - an inspiring example of the power of resilience, strength, and courage. I hope to be a reminder that we can all live our best lives if we stay determined and focused. We can achieve anything!
