pragmatic water solutions
Microloans
Through micro-loans, small loans not traditionally offered through a financial institution, can provide a home with a running tap and toilet. Individuals seeking a tap and toilet in their home can apply for a micro-loan. The micro-loan is facilitated through partnerships created between a coordinator at Water.org and partners offering financial investments. The micro-loan will be returned with interest, thus making it a profitable investment for our partners. Click here to see how to participate in the micro-loan process.
womens equality action
Each time a home gets a micro-loan it gives a woman the opportunity to advance a woman’s life for the better. In developing countries the women of the household are the ones left to collect the water, rendering them unable to work. Furthermore, the female children in the family are also required to collect water, removing them from school to do so. A micro-loan in turn buys these women time and puts them back in the position to be independent and educated.
Proper water management
By educating the general public and the corporate world on proper management and loss mitigation water can be protected and kept in plentiful supply. This can be enhanced by advocacy, activism, and lobbying. Click here to see how to participate in these modes.
